SUMMARY:New Moon Study Circle: Technopoly
STATUS:CONFIRMED
DESCRIPTION:You've heard of the oligarchy\, but Neil Postman would argue th
at we are instead (also?) living in a Technopoly: a society that has ceded
culture to technology. Join us for a Socratic discussion where we'll unp
ack what Postman means\, debate whether we agree\, and reflect on the mode
rn interplay between technology and culture.\n\nNo prior reading required!
Excerpts from Postman's 1992 text\, Technopoly\, will be printed out and
serve as the basis for discussion. You're encouraged to RSVP in advance so
that I can make enough print outs for everyone!\n\nWe'll go from 5 PM to
 7 PM.\n\nRSVP / details: https://unplugg.me/e/5smvwaze
